Why are some Iris rates estimated rather than sourced directly from MRFs?

No carrier publishes complete data for every billing code in every market. Published rates are also sometimes unrealistic — extreme outliers that don't reflect how a code is actually priced in practice. Derived data fills those gaps so analysis can still be directionally reliable, with clear indicators throughout the report showing where estimates have been applied.
